It was a wonderful , sunny morning. Mr. Arora was in an exceptionally happy mood. Insiders in his office had already informed him of his impending promotion. Humming aloud he left his house, grinning at the watchman (who rubbed his eyes in disbelief). As he was about to enter his car, something abruptly fell over his head. The stench was unbearable. He opened his mouth to curse, while egg shells slid down his face. A rather annoyed Mr. Arora entered the lift quickly, yelling at the totally baffled watchman.
Meanwhile a few floors above, indifferent from the commotion below was Mrs. Litteratti at work, singing aloud.
Her husband , Mr. Litteratti was late for office. She packed him his breakfast and some fruits to have on the way in the office bus.
Mr. Litteratti was a man who swore by the phrase : "chalta hai!"
Colleague: "These auto wallahs these days! So rude I tell you. "
Mr. Litteratti: "Chalta hai"
Boss: " Your subordinates are always chit chatting during office hours!"
Mr. Litteratti: "Sir! Chalta hai!"
The office bus moved at a snail's pace through Mumbai's traffic.Mr. Litteratti opened his breakfast tiffin and started munching. Burping aloud, he winded up his meal with his favorite elachi bananas and threw the banana skins out of the window.
So where did the skins land, you wonder. Don't you?
They landed right on the turban of Mr. Karnail Singh, who was whizzing by on his Bullet.
Mr. Karnail Singh was beside himself. "WHO IS THIS UNCIVILISED , MANNERLESS PERSON?" he roared.
A group of people pacified him as he hurled abuses at the unanonymous offender.
While Mr. Litteratti, oblivious to all this , got down at his usual stop.

Mr. Litterati's son , Literatti Jnr. was revising for his Maths test in school. Suddenly he realized he hadn't sharpened his pencils. In a jiffy, he took out his sharpener and started sharpening his pencils, throwing all the pencil shavings outside the window.Once done, he dusted his hands and sighed. He was all ready for the test. Little did he know, the shavings and pencil dust had landed straight into the open tiffin of his little sister, who was busy admiring her friend Neelu's new pencil box.

Mr.Litteratti paced up and down in his office. He had to get the upcoming project. But how would he convince his boss. His incapabilities were not hidden. He decided to invite him over for dinner.
Mrs. Litteratti left no stone unturned in the royal dinner preparations. From Aloo Gobhi to Daal Makhani to Biryani to Gulab Jamuns.Afterall this was their only chance to please the unpleased boss.
The kids were told to reach home quickly after their classes and behave nicely with boss uncle.
Boss uncle was on his way.He looked at the address given by Mr. Litteratti. He had reached the locality. But where was this building. He looked around trying to find someone who could help him. It was near dark and he spotted a kid. "Beta can you please..." He stopped midway.
The kid was busy relieving himself on the compound wall.
Disgusted he shouted at the boy," This is what they teach you in school?". The boy turned and scurried off.
Muttering to himself, boss uncle finally found the building and as he was about to enter, he was greeted with fresh produce from Mrs. Litteratti's kitchen waste basket. He clenched his fists and teeth.
On reaching Mr. Litteratti's house, he was welcomed with a bouquet of fresh flowers by Mr. Litteratti, who was shocked at seeing his disheveled condition.
Mrs. Literatti was stunned. She hadn't thought in her wildest dreams that her kitchen waste would wipe out her husband's career.
"What kind of locality is this? " He spat out. "No civic sense!"
Mrs. Litterati gulped.
The door bell rang.
"It would be Chintu. He had gone for his football match."
As the door opened, Chintu's and Boss Uncle's face reddened. One with anger and one with embarrassment.
"So he is your child?! Eh? This mannerless boy who thinks the compound walls are his private toilet! I wouldn't be surprised if I got to know the waste thrown on me was from this uncivilized house!"
Mr. Litterati slumped onto the chair as his boss walked out, leaving the Litteratti family in dismay.
Sadly the garbage they had always thrown out of their house had found a way back to their own house. And how!

So they were taught a lesson after all. Sadly, such families are so common in India everywhere. Nicely written :).
