the half open window...

The sun shone that day.
Just like any other day...
The window half open..
I wait for the face to appear..'Her' face..
The smiling..grinning..sunshine face..
Counting the vehicles whiz by..
Shouting out and waving..
Teasing me with wierd nicknames..laughing at my "pink shirt
Sharing everything..her dreams..her fears..
The window half open...
Is vacant today...
I wait for the face to appear..
Telling stories of yesterday..
The jewellery she bought..the shoes on sale..
Pictures she sent on my phone..
I wait for the beep..'Her' beep on my phone..
i gaze at the window half open..
Hoping to see her once again..
Full of life, bursting of laughter..
Believing life is worthwhile..
The window half open..
The face is gone..
I remember..what she used to say...as i stagger on alone..
"Dusk gives way to dawn..
Life will always go on.."
