does goodness pay?
as you sow ..so shall you reap they say...
what goes around..comes around they say..
an action will have a reaction they claim..
the good shall triumph and evil shall be slain..
goodness will never go in vain..
the thought of being good however falters midway..
when the evil rejoice and the good choke with dismay..
they wait with undying hope for the "judgement" day
they wait for for their goodness to pay..
and days come and days go..
the fruitless wait..with their heads low..
good deeds still egging them on..
coz we cant sin! alas..this is how we're born..
a life well lived..but still in vain..
the good seeds bore bitter fruits time and again..
and one fine day..the existence ceases..
in the last moments the forehead creases...
the fruitless wait for goodness to pay..
a life lived with shattered hope ..hurt..and dismay..

d path of truth n goodness is difficult to follow....
Goodness does pay...maybe not in the way we want it too...not at the time we want it too...but it does...and though we might have to eat bitter fruits while we continue to wait for goodness to pay, the good side of us keeps telling us that "atleast your stomachs have been full". A life lived in vain is atleast a life lived and not a hollow life like the ones who live on the other side of good...and good people are destined for much greater things...all you need is to keep your faith in goodness intact... :)
It is in those ending moments, that a realization dawns. The life of honesty lived, was worth it all.
Nice read.

goodness pays in it own ways.
I don't know whether goodness pays or not...but...what goodness means and how does it pay..the meaning of these are different for everyone...
It all comes down to the expectations..I guess...whether we do goodness(again, with respect to what we mean bu goodness) with something in mind...or we just do it..because that is how we are.
Hmmm,thought provoking :)
