mr.B was one of the finest friends one could ever have...i was lucky to have him..he was a charmer..no wonder he had so many friends..
such a magnificient persona...when he walked ,heads turned -upright and robust..
i loved walking with him..the walks at dawn..the gurudwara trips at dusk...n on the way:
#"philosophy" ..:) he heard i spoke...
# career advise: i heard, he spoke...
# career advise: i heard, he spoke...
we were opposites..he was mature i was a teen with a mind balance of a 5 yr old..
he was painfully patient and i was irksomely restless..
i loved plucking raw mangoes from his neighbour's garden much to his wrath..but he seldom yelled..his trick was "silence"..making me hang my head in shame when he apologised for me..

we had our share of fights..i never initiated patchups..i was too stubborn and he was too humble for patching up...following me everywhere to make up..
Mr.B was a story tella! keeping me enthralled to his tales...i adored him..coz he always made me feel important..valued..worthwhile:) i still remembered the day my eyes glistened with delight when he confessed- "u r my ms.world!" [while i giggled and guffawed]
i was so flattered i wrote him a poem and he framed and hung it in his bedroom..
i m sure he felt happy too with me around ..he introduced me to his circle of frns with an air of pride...[blink blink]:)

they was loads to learn frm him..humility..hardwork..honesty..
he would tell me:" a person's descent starts the day he feels he's learnt all"
he could discuss anythin..politics..current affairs..philosophy..religion..
he was the most candid person..a frank and effortless critic..he surveyed my poems and had his share of genuine advise to give me...how i cud make that 9 n a half to ten..
he loathed my weird caller tunes..yeah he did..so much that he would stop talking if i dont change it ASAP!;)

mum adored him too even though he always stood infront of me protecting me from her her towering anger..while i hid timidly behind him...;p
and then one day..it was a week since i spoke with him...i woke in the morn wantin to ask mum if he had cald to talk to me.. she seemed upset..she broke the news to me..he was no more..and life wasnt the same anymore...
coz Mr. B was not only my friend..my critic my mentor...but also my granddad...

For me my Grandpa is a best hindi teacher (strict coz even 2day he sends back my letters written to him in hindi full of red marks...hehehe) ,philosopher, guide, a true patriot, an idol, my best mate in playing pranks on others and ya a great writer........
M proud to be his grandaughter!!!

# prince..shalu..sush n shaun:
a heartfelt thankyou buddies:))those comments mean a lot:)
The post was so touching and bittersweet.
Coming to your blog I leave most of the time feeling filled with peace and earthy things.( thats the single digit number of times I've visited so far ;) )
Peace to his soul.
BTW is the background music original? Somehow seems like someone has resung it after the original copyrights expired. Not that its bad, just that doesn't match with original patters I have in my head.
Only after reading the comments, I get the feeling that...this was a piece of write-up. Not that such thing happened!~
this tells abput u as a writer...
it felt as if I know, mr. b, urgrandpa.
That descent point was awesome and true
:)
I am sorry for what happened.
Till the end, i was eager to know who is Mr.B( if not its Big B :-P), till i reached the end, i almost fell in love with the relationship you both shared.
You must write more of such touching stories, as you have that thing in you..
Good choice of words , in a more appropriate manner too.
Cheers
@ stupidosaur: thnx for dropping by..[lol @ single digit visits :p]
n ya as for the song been played...its resung..not the original[that confirms that its mismatch with the patterns in yr head is not incorrect;)] the original is sung by mukesh for the film anand..resung by jagjit singh:)
@ rajeev: thanx!! yea the descent pt is one of those sentences that remain engrained in ya head all ya life:) as for the post's congruence with reality..well..
its not fiction...:)
@ alex: :) m so happie here there was no scope to comment : e..n..s..;P
@ mahesh: thnx:):) yeah i was thinkin of more stories...or mebbe even a series..:)
Well...I came to know that it was not fiction. But putting the past in such a way...that it touches u to the core, binds u...is a remarkable feat....
Hey, Divsi..m facing the block...why don't you begin a story...and hand it over to me...with a plausible break[if possible] ...and then I shall write and forward to Mahesh...what say?
@ rajeev:
wokay:) no i dunt mind at all!!!! i l mail u the start as soon as i think of sum lovely storyline...:)chheers!
@ Divsi and Mahesh
Ooh! Do i smell a RP story out here?
@ shaunie: RP story??
And one more thing Divsi, this song really touches my heart, Jagjit Singh's voice, OMG! Can't beat it for songs like this.
Role Play story...where one assumes one character of the story, and writes that part, while another author assumes another character and writes that part of the story, and it builds up on it's own following a general storyline. And it actually keeps going on for a long time coz with really good writers, they react to what the other is writing, and write their part accordingly, so the story builds up more naturally.
I've done this quite a few times, mostly on the harry potter forums back in 12th std :P
shaun..yr so righto:) hes a genius isnt he?:) i was in a fix to put the mukesh version or this version both are so sooper!
wowwie:) i neva knew bout it being christened as ROLE PLAY:) hehe:)
hp..12th std...lol..u kno wad that reminds me of...?
beep beep..the half blood prince is...................

and a list of invectives to one another for scaring!!!remeba? ;p
haha..totally! And then of course you ended up threatening me wid my life for trying to tell you. So yeah, trauma hasn't allowed me to forget that part :P
Hi Divsi !
This is such a beautiful, heart-touching post! My condolences to you on your loss. Do remember that those we truly love never really leave us; it is just that with death, they become physically invisible to us.

Great tribute!
I had begun to fall in love with him.
Hi:)
Greetings:)
Excellent tribute to your grand pa. You were lucky to have him around. From your narration I understand that he was your FRIEND, GUIDE AND PHILOSOPHER. Very few of us are as lucky as you were to have our grandparents around to inspire us, tell us stories, play with us, make us laugh, feel concerned about our happiness etc.
Your photo is amazing and at the same time very touching. Your narration is top class.
Have a wonderful day:)
Joseph
